A BIT ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Sasha Patton, and I currently live in New Jersey with my husband and our two boys. My hobbies include running, hiking, gardening, and reading.
My favorite part of being an editor is using words and punctuation effectively to convey the clearest meaning. I have 15 years of professional editing experience in educational publishing, including developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, researching, correlating educational resources with curricula, and working as an editorial assistant. I also have experience creating and editing newsletters and yearbooks. I was a parent representative on the board of directors for my children’s preschool, and I served as the president of the parent foundation at my children’s elementary school. I have also volunteered as a parent helper in my children’s classrooms.
I have completed the Publishing Certificate Continuing Education program at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, with a focus of study on Copyediting for Books, Journals, and Reports; Substantive and Line Editing; Production for Books, Journals, and Reports; Publishing for Children; Publishing Overview I; Publishing and the Internet; and Scholarly and Reference Publishing. I have received an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University in Toronto, Canada, with a double major in English and Mass Communications.
